Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Probably Sir Thomas Osborne, 4th Duke of Leeds (1713 - 1789), attributed to Thomas Gibson (c.1680 – London 1751). Succeeded 1731 Number on frame 179. (formerly in the Dining Room) Thomas Osborne married Mary Godolphin (c. 1705 - 1764) in 1740. It was through this marriage that Godolphin eventually passed in to the ownership of the Duke of Leeds and the name became Godolphin-Osborne.
