Summary
Painting. An oil painting on panel, three-quarter-length portrait of A Girl of the Morgan Family, aged 17, British (English) School, 1620. She faces slightly to the left, wearing a dark green/brown low cut brocade dress with white, patterned under-skirt, lace ruff and cuffs, and a plume in her hair. Her accessories include a watch in her right hand, pearls around her neck and on the left wrist amber beads on right wrist.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
