Summary
Painting. An oil painting on panel, three-quarter-length portrait of A Young Girl of the Morgan Family, aged 9, English School, 1620, previously attributed to William Peake (c.1580-1639). She wears an orange dress, the skirts split in the middle, revealing yellow underskirts, lace trim to neckline and cuffs. She wears a plume on her head and is holding a bunch of grapes in her left hand and a feathered fan in her right.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
