Summary
Painting. An oil painting on panel, three-quarter-length portrait of A Young Boy of the Morgan Family, aged 6, English School, 1620, previously attributed to William Peake (c.1580-1639). He wears a red dress, trimmed with white lace on the neckline and cuffs, holding a dagger in his left hand. Within a stained oak frame.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
