Fimbriated rosette at the bottom left hand corner plus part of arc and swag foliage. Olive green glazed body with a light green /creamy yellow slip inlay. There is a shallow central scoop on the reverse of the tile. From a collection of designs of tiles commissioned for Lacock Abbey by William Sharington. Manufactured between 1550-3. These are part of a set with designs 1(or 2), 3, 6, 8, 28 and 31.(Group A – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report). One of two know fragments and this is the bottom right corner and edge of a tile. The tile fragment is in good condition. Some slip remains but most is thinning and patchy and there is only a small patch of glazed slip. On the body, there are patches of thin glaze across the tile. On the reverse is a section of a central scoop.
