Summary
A mahogany stationery or writing box, made by Thomas Briggs of 27 Piccadilly, London, circa 1820-50. Of rectangular form with a flush brass handle and nameplate to the top engraved 'Mademoiselle Amelina'. Fitted to the inside with a hinged lifting cover.

Owned by Amelina Petit, Governess to William Henry Fox Talbot's children and purchased with the family collection of Abbey contents in situ from Mrs Petronella Burnett-Brown December 2009
