Summary
The spool-shaped cover of The Doncaster Cup: A George III silver-gilt vase-shaped cup and cover on fluted and beaded foot, the partly-fluted body with reeded bracket handles and applied with a scene of artillery, horses pulling a gun wagon, the fluted spool-shaped cover with figure of Victory finial, the body further applied with two oval cartouches of Bacchic putti and engraved with presentation inscription 'Doncaster Cup 1796, Henry Vane Tempest Bt. and Sitwell Esq.
