Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Robert Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh, later 2nd Marquess of Londonderry, KG, GCH, MP (1769-1822) by Sir Thomas Lawrence, PRA (Bristol 1769 – London 1830), 1794. A three-quarter-length portrait, of the only child of the 1st Marquess of Londonderry by his first wife, in a black coat and holding a black conical hat in his gloved right hand. He succeeded his father in 1821 only a year before his own death so for most of his working life he was Viscount Castlereagh.
