Summary
Oil painting on panel, A Peasant Boy with Cattle and Sheep, manner of Aelbert Cuyp (Dordrecht 1620 – Dordrecht 1691), bears signature, bottom right: A. cuÿp. An evening scene with a boy in a white shirt, seeking a flea in his shirt, is seated at the right with two cows and four sheep round him; on the left the River Maas with shipping and the tower of Huis te Merwede in the distance. A picture showing a similar subject is in the Frick collection.
