Summary
Oil painting on panel, Hélène Fourment (1614 - 1673), attributed to Jan Boeckhorst (1604/5 - 1668), after Sir Peter Paul Rubens (Seigen 1577 - Antwerp 1640), 1630/40. A half-length portrait to right, head turned towards specator, her left hand held across her body, holding a fan; she wears a black velvet cap with ostrich feather and black velvet dress with lace collar. The second wife of Rubens whom he married in 1630 when she was only 16. Many versions of the picture exist.

Duke of Richmond in 19th century; Anthony de Rothschild, 1930; given to the National Trust by Anthony de Rothschild (1887- 1961) with the house in 1949
