Summary
Tray, Sèvres shaped oval tray with handles (plateau ‘du roi’), painted with a basket of flowers in a medallion on a turquoise ground with gold oeil de perdrix, marks of interlaced ‘L’s mark enclosing a date code ‘L’ for the year 1764, and the gilders mark of Jean-Pierre Boulanger.
Provenance
Purchased by Ralph Dutton in November 1960, ‘Sèvres tray turquoise ground with small gilt stars in centre painted basket of flowers, 1764, Gilder Bulidon (damaged)’ from H. R. Marden King, Winchester, for £32. (fol.111). Claimed from the estate of Ralph Dutton, 8th Baron Sherborne by his sister, Hon. Joane Dutton, 1985. By whom bequeathed to the National Trust for Hinton Ampner House, 1988.
