Summary
Sugar Bowl Lid of Tea and coffee service set. Of quatrefoil form with burnished gold ground; decorated with sprays of blue flowers, between two white reserves, painted with Watteau subjects; bay leaf design forms the divisions; the upper edges bordered with a gold scroll work pattern which develops into a scallop shell in the centre of each feuille. The reverse edge is similarly treated, except for the shell; the lower edges banded with gold; the saucers present the quatrefoil in the centre, in gold scroll work, whereas the bottom of the inside of the bowl and teacups is further embellished with a flower and, in the bowl only, with insects.
