Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Oil painting on canvas, Arthur Onslow (1691–1768), Speaker of the House of Commons, 1728 - 1761, British (English) School, circa 1730/35. A three-quarter-length portrait, standing, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing Speaker's robes and long grey wig, holding a paper in his right hand. The House of Commons mace on the left on a table.
