Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Oil painting on canvas, Called Henrietta Shelley, Countess of Onslow (1731-1809) but possibly really Lady Henrietta Godolphin, Duchess of Newcastle (m. 1717; d. 1776) by Jonathan Richardson the elder (London 1665 – London 1745), circa 1720/30. A three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a blue velvet dress.
