Summary
[Saved] Oil painting on canvas, called Henrietta Shelley, Countess of Onslow (1730/1-1802/9) but more likely Lady Henrietta Godolphin, Duchess of Newcastle (m.1717; d.1776) by John Russell (Guildford 1745 – Hull 1806), signed and dated; J. Russell pinxt 1769. This is a rare instance of Russell's early work in oils.

Purchased by the Ministry of Public Building and Works in 1963 from the 6th Earl, Transferred to the National Trust in 1977.
