The Lord Keeper is standing slightly to the left, dressed in black with a high black hat and small white ruff, holding a roll of paper in his right hand. A red curtain forms the background. To the left on a table is the bag containing the seal, and in the upper left corner is the Williams coat of arms. He appears to be about 45 years of age.
