Summary
Bracket clock. Large Louis XIV 14-day striking bracket clock in a boulle case, by Jean Le Doux, Paris, c.1700. The case has glazed sides and ormolu mounts, surmounted by a figure of Fame (minus trumpet), with volutes at bottom. The chased gilt brass dial has white enamel hour plaques with blue Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The dial is supported by 2 seated figures in gilt bronze in low relief.
