A half-length portrait of a young woman looking out to the left wearing a red dress with lace collar and pearl earrings and head-dress. . Inscribed on reverse of panel 'Henrietta Maria by Peter Liley'. Typed label on reverse 'It is certain that this painting represents Queen Henrietta Maria; it is equally certain that, despite the inscription, it is not the work of Sir Peter Lely. Mr J.W.
