Summary
A black Japanned and chinoiserie decorated bureau cabinet, English, circa 1700 Of narrow proportions.The cabinet with molded cornice and concave frieze above a single beveled mirrored door enclosing a red painted and parcel gilt interior of shelves and pigeon holes and drawers. The bureau with a single candle slide above a fall enclosing a further fitted interior of pigeon holes and drawers and with a well below. With three long drawers and raised on later bun feet. The whole decorated with figures and birds within landscapes and flowers

Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
