Summary
Print, mezzotint, Lionel Sackville, later 1st Duke of Dorset (1688-1765) and his sister Lady Mary Sackville, later Duchess of Beaufort (1687-1705) (after Sir Godfrey Kneller) by John Smith (Daventry 1652 - Northampton 1743). Framed. Two children in a landscape with a large building to the right. Lord Buckhurst holds a garland of flowers and strokes a fallow deer with his right hand. Lady Mary to the right of the picture sits with a King Charles spaniel in her lap. Black hogarth frame, mounted and glazed.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
