Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sarah Lascelles, Mrs Christopher Lethieullier (1656/9-1743) by Michael Dahl (Stockholm 1656/9 – London 1743). A three-quarter-length portrait of a young woman, facing in a blue velvet dress with an orange tree in a tub at the left. Daughter of Edward Lascelles of Stoke Newington, she married, firstly, in 1717, Joshua Iremonger II, to whom she bore two sons, Joshua III and Lascelles; her second husband was Christopher Lethieullier, by whom she had Sarah, who married Sir Matthew, and two sons, Benjamin and Christopher.
Provenance
...accepted in lieu of tax on the death of Admiral the Hon. Sir Herbert Meade-Fetherstonhaugh (1875-1964) in 1965 and transferred to the National Trust by the Treasury, September 1990.
