Jar and cover. Hard-paste porcelain. Baluster-shaped jar. The cover surmounted by a moulded (Shishi) Buddhist lion on rockwork. The body of the jar decorated in colours with Buddhist lions and flowering foliage, with predominant shades of red and blue enamels and gilt. Arita, Japan. c.1700-1720.
