Oil painting on canvas, Sir Robert Throckmorton, 1st Baronet Throckmorton of Coughton (d. 1650), English School, circa 1656/50, inscribed: Sr. ROBt THROCKMORTON CREaTED BARt 1642/ DIED 1650/BURIED AT COUGHTON. A head-and-shoulders portrait, slightly right, in black with white lawn collar and tassel, his right hand held to his chest.Sir Robert Throckmorton, 1st Bt was the son of John Throckmorton and Agnes Wilford. He married firstly Dorothy Fortescue, daughter of Sir John Fortescue and secondly Mary Smith, daughter of Sir Francis Smyth and Anne Markham. He died on 16 January 1650. He was created 1st Baronet Throckmorton, of Coughton, co. Warwick on 1 September 1642
