Summary
Oil painting on canvas, A Child in a Garden, English School, circa 1690. Previously attributed to Henry Gascars or circle of Largilliere. A child, possibly a member of the recusant Throckmorton family, in exile in St Germain, France, standing full-length in a formal garden, with a dog, wearing an embroidered dress with lace bonnet holding a rose in her left hand, her right reaching to the dog. A fountain is flowing in the background and a house can be seen beyond.
