Oil painting on canvas, William Herbert, Lord Herbert, later 2nd Marquis of Powis (c. 1665 - 1745) as a Boy, attributed to François de Troy (Toulouse 1645 - Paris 1730), early 18th century. Inscribed top left in gold: WILLIAM MARQUIS OF POWIS. DIED 1745. A half-length portrait, to left in armour, holding his baton against his hip in his right hand and gloved in his left resting aginast his hip, with sword hilt behind on right. He was the father of Lady Theresa Herbert, 1st wife of Sir Robert Throckmorton, 4th Baronet. [WRONG IMAGE]
