Summary
One of a pair of buckles made of white and black metal and leather - rectangular with rounded corners. Curved. Has been painted black. It appears some kind of ornament was attached on to the leather, but it is now missing, leaving the leather damaged. Has spring clip at back, invented by William Eley and patented in 1784. Marked 'L' and 'R' on backs (this one marked 'R'). 1784.
