Summary
Ice pails and covers (pair), soft paste porcelain, bucket-shaped with a low spreading foot, upright body and two scrolling ledge handles, the covers with raised rim and central loop handle, Derby Porcelain Manufactory, ca 1795; painted in the manner of Richard Askew with putti, the borders of a deep blue ground with rose sprays in pink and green enamel on quatrefoil reserve panels, between which are areas of gilt scrolling foliage, bands of plain and ornamental gilding to the foot and rims.
