Summary
Dress; Open robe - Block printed and pencilled cotton. Delicate trailing stems with pointed, petalled flowers. Black stems. Madder hues with yellow and blue pencilling. 3 blue threads in selvedge. Bodice and sleeves lined with bleached linen. Bodice edge to edge, front opening. Low, wide neckline, high waist - rising at back. Drawstring round neck edge. No underarm seam. Back - two shaped panels, each piece made up with lining and then overstitched together. Sleeves very high into back of bodice. 2 seams. Narrow, cut to shape at elbow. Shaped cuff of same fabric. Skirt 3 widths. Double box-pleated to bodice, round to side front. 2 pocket slits.No trimmings. Cotton draw tape at the neck. Evidence of pinning on bodice front. Waistline has been restitched.
