Summary
Celestial globe. Hollow globe, plaster covered then, covered with paper segments printed with the zodiacal constellations. Horizon ring with various scales, including months in Latin. Stand of four turned legs joined to a central turned plate. Oak. Maker: 'Car - Price London' printed in cartouche on lower part of globe. CPW item number 154 (Admiral). In notebook no.2, page ? (1340945.2) Charles Wade refers to: 'Admiral 154. Celestial Sphere by CAR PRICE London 1715 on a well turned stand. The companion one is in the Witch's room but sphere so damaged, replaced with later one.' Includes sketch with dimensions.
