Summary
Money scales in a shagreen box. Lined maroon hand cut velvet, pink silk pad in lid. Swan neck iron beam, brass pans, green cords with gold braid balls. Weights 5,3,2,1 DWT 12 grains, according to Act 1775, stamped crown of Royal Mint, also one round brass knobbed weight marked 2.16 for the half guinea, stamped anchor of Birmingham Assay Office. Typical late 18th century.
