Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Cecily Baker, Countess of Dorset (d.1615), British (English) School. A painted oval half-length portrait of a mature woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, her brown hair worn up and dressed with jewels, in a figure-of-eight white lace ruff and wearing a black and gold embroidered dress, with a chain of jewels, ropes of pearls, looped and falling and a large jewelled brooch on her right sleeve.
