Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Lady Martha Cranfield, Countess of Monmouth (1601-1667) by Daniel Mytens the elder (Delft c.1590 – The Hague 1648). Full-length portrait of a young woman, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, her left hand resting on a table on the right her right hand holding, at her waist, a lace bordered kerchief. She is wearing a drab green silk brocade dress with yellow lace collar and cuffs and a feather head ornament. Her gloves are on a table covered with a red velvet cloth on the right. She is standing on a Turkey carpet.
