Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Lady Anna Maria Brudenell, Countess of Shrewsbury (1642-1702) after Sir Peter Lely (Soest 1618 – London 1680). Three-quarter length portrait of a woman, seated, turned slightly to the right, head turned slightly to the left, gazing slightly to the left, her left arm resting on a large stone vase containing a shrub with flowers. She is touching one of the flowers with her left hand. She has curled brown hair falling in ringlets on her brow, and is wearing a purple satin dress with white sleeves. The original is at Boughton.
