Summary
Oil painting on panel, King Philip III, King of Spain (1578-1621), after Frans Pourbus the younger (Antwerp 1569 – Paris 1622), 17th century. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a young man, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, short, reddish hair, wearing a figure-of-eight lace ruff and engraved suit of armour. Around his neck is a red and gold ribbon with the Order of the Golden Fleece. A studio version of circa 1600 is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
