Summary
Oil painting on panel, Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia, Archduchess of Austria (1566-1633), after Frans Pourbus the younger (Antwerp 1569 – Paris 1622), 17th century. A head-and-shoulders portrait of a woman, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, her light-reddish hair dressed on top with a scarlet band of jewels, wearing a heavily embroidered ivory dress with pearls and jewels. Drop-pearl earring. Large lace ruff. Dark background. A contemporary version after the 1609 portrait by Rubens is in the Groeningemuseum, Bruges
