Summary
Oil painting on herringbone/twill canvas, The Supper at Emmaus, after Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (Caravaggio 1571 – Port'Ercole 1610), circa 1620s. This is a later variant copy of the painting in the Brera, Milan, possibly done by a North Italian artist whilst in Rome when the original was in the ownership of the Patrizi family. It shows Christ, in blue robes, with four disciples, a dog in the foreground, window and a pedimented building in the background.

Bequeathed by Maurice Egerton, 4th Baron Egerton of Tatton (1874 - 1958) to the National Trust with the house, gardens and contents of Tatton Park
