Summary
Oil painting on panel, Lady Margaret Sackville, later Countess of Thanet (1614-1676), aged 4, by William Larkin (London c.1585 – London 1619). Inscribed mid-right: Ætat sua[e] 4./Ao. Doi 1618 [looks later]. A painted oval half-length portrait of a young girl, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, her blonde hair worked into plaits and dressed with a pink feather, she wears a lace ruff, an embroidered yellow dress with pink and green embroidered sleeves and a ring hanging from a pink ribbon from her neck. Red marbled oval setting.
