Summary
Oil painting on panel, Known as William Cecil, Lord Burghley (1520-1598) but possibly Henry Carey, Lord Hunsdon (1524?-1596), after Hans Eworth (Antwerp c.1525 – ?London after 1578). A half-length portrait of a man turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, In black coat and cap and chain of office, and with a wand in his right hand. The same portrait as P/19, although this one is slightly larger, and named in the top left corner as Henry Carey, Lord Hudson.
