Summary
Vase, one of a pair, earthenware with tin-glaze (Delft), hexagonal section, of guglet bottle form with knopped neck, painted in cobalt blue with a formal design of leaves and birds in reserves, lappet bands, unmarked, possibly De Drie Posteleyne Astonne (The Three Ash Barrel) under Pieter Gerritsz Kan or his widow, Delft, the Netherlands, c. 1700-15.
Provenance
The 1909 Heirlooms at Tatton inventory records ‘15 Blue and White Delft Vases over bookcases in the library’ and acquired by Earl Egerton.
