Summary
A pair of vases, earthenware with tin-glaze (Delft), hexagonal section, of guglet bottle form with knopped neck, painted in cobalt blue with a formal design of leaves and birds in reserves, lappet bands, unmarked, possibly De Drie Posteleyne Astonne (The Three Ash Barrel) under Pieter Gerritsz Kan or his widow; Delft, the Netherlands, c. 1700-15.
Provenance
The 1909 Heirlooms at Tatton inventory records ‘15 Blue and White Delft Vases over bookcases in the library’ and acquired by Earl Egerton.
