Caption
The sitter was the eldest daughter of Sir Jacob Astley, 3rd Bt. (1692 – 1760) and Lucy L’Estrange (1699 – 1739). Her brother Edward (1729 – 1802), later 4th Bt., married Rhoda Delaval (1725 – 1757), of Seaton Delaval. Heins was a German artist who settled in Norwich, through that city's trading connections with the North and the Netherlands. He was conveniently situated for Melton Constable, the Astley family estate.

Painted oval. A half-length portrait, turned slightly to the right, standing, facing.short brown hair, wearing a white dress, with a brooch on the bodice, and a pink shawl draped over her left arm.
Full description
Eldest daughter of Sir Jacob Astley, 3rd Bt. (1692 – 1760) and Lucy L’Estrange (1699 – 1739). Her brother Edward (1729 – 1802), later 4th Bt., married Rhoda Delaval (1725 – 1757). Heins was a German artist who settled in Norwich, conveniently placed for the patronage of the Astleys at Melton Constable.

Accepted in lieu of tax by H.M. Treasury and transferred to the National Trust in 2009
