Summary
A "Lotus bowl", one of a pair, modelled as a lotus flower with branches in relief, and enamelled in colours with flowering branches and insects with shaded leaves, China, Jingdezhen, Qianlong period, circa 1740-50.
Provenance
Possibly acquired by Commodore George Anson (1697 – 1762) during his circumnavigation of the globe in the HMS Centurion (1740 - 1744). .
