Oil painting on canvas (ceiling-north panel), Cupid with Roses, attributed to Alessandro Varotari, Il Padovanino (Padua 1588 - Venice 1649). Cupid shown with left leg forward, glancing over left shoulder, and scattering roses; two other putti can be seen bottom and right .

Acquired by William John Bankes in Venice in 1849, possibly from the Palazzo Grimani; bequeathed by (Henry John) Ralph Bankes (1902 – 1981) together with the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy and its entire contents
