Summary
An ebony cabinet on an associated ebonised oak stand, the cabinet probably Anglo-Indian, early 18th century, the stand English, mid 18th century. The top section with a pair of paneled cupboard doors with repousse panels depicting Cupid and Venus opeining to reveal a fitted interior of drawers and a cupboard partly panelled with marble. The stand with three slides and a frieze drawer, raised on cabriole legs and lion's paw feet with gadrooned bases.
Provenance
Bequest of the estates of Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy made to the National Trust by Henry John Ralph Bankes (1902-1981). NT ownership commenced from 19th August 1982
