Caption
John Turnbull Dixon was an amateur painter who worked for his family's drapery business in Rothbury. He illustrated 'Upper Coquetdale' (1903), which was written by his brother David Dippie Dixon, who became librarian to William Watson-Armstrong, 1st Lord Armstrong of Bamburgh and Cragside (1863–1941).
