Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Robert Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh, later 2nd Marquess of Londonderry (1769–1822), after Sir Thomas Lawrence, PRA (Bristol 1769 – London 1830), after 1794. A three-quarter-length portrait of Viscount Castlereagh, the only child of the 1st Marquess of Londonderry by his first wife, standing in a landscape, facing the viewer, his head turned to the right. He wears a black coat, white stock, and fawn coloured trousers, and holds a black hat in his gloved right hand. His left hand is on his hip. This is a copy after the orginal in the Londonderry collection which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1794 (131).
