Oil painting on canvas, Charity, manner of Sir Peter Paul Rubens (Siegen 1577 – Antwerp 1640), 18th century Charity is one of the theological virtues with Faith and Hope and is represented here as a woman with four children. She reveals one of her breasts which suggests she has been suckling them which was a common depiction of the subject after the 16th century.
