Summary
An unusual feather banded walnut work table or writing table, English, circa 1690-1700. The top with twin hinged leaves folding to the centre, above a fitted frieze drawer to one side and a slide to the other side of the frieze, raised on a twist turned column and three down swept legs. Reduced in height, later fitted castors.

Bequest to the National Trust of conditionally tax exempt objects from Lady Megaw to Beningbrough Hall in 1973.
