Summary
Box, ivory veneers on a wooden carcass, with silver mounts and sandalwood lining; decorated with scrolling foliate borders on all sides filled with black lacquer, the lid with a finer border surrounding the central plain rectangle. Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
