Summary
Sword; Kora - Steel sword ('kora'), with flared blade; the hilt with two flat circular discs one above and one below the grip, which is bound with twine; a facetted finial and discs of various widths above. The upper knop with circular brass inlay at the top; a strip of brass is inlaid into the back of the blade at the forte, and circular inlays are on both faces a the tip. Nepal, 17th / 18th century.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
